Day 18 – 8,116 KM. Town 26: After much research, I managed to locate Yarra Yarra as being a parish within Goulburn County in NSW. Source: Geographical Names Board of NSW with thanks to Mr Barker.
Sadly the only trace I could find of Yarra Yarra was a single signpost with a single Yarra on it just south of Goulburn.
actually Yarra seems to be a relatively common name in Australia, for instance the river that flows through Melbourne it the Yarra. As for Yarra Yarra, the sign is all I have ever seen. I have some relos from near by a wheoo. Some of these places may once have had a union church, which being made of wood probably didn’t last. Other than that it is the name for a district so you can tell people where you are from.
