I feel very fortunate to have this great opportunity to see so much of Australia but to add a sense of purpose to my adventure, I am hoping to raise $2,000 AUD and awareness for the Fred Hollows Foundation.

To sum up the Fred Hollows Foundation, they have the ability to use each AUD$25 raised (about £14.50) to save an individuals sight that could otherwise be lost to blindness.

It is estimated that 75% of the world’s 45 million blind is preventable or treatable. Staggeringly, on average, a person living with blindness in the developing world will die within four years of going blind and 60% of children becoming blind in some countries die within a year. The Fred Hollows Foundation has helped restore the sight of more than 1,000,000 people worldwide so I hope you will agree that this is a particularly worthwhile cause.
