About

Peter HarrisAustralia is an amazing country but it is rather big. Now of course, big is subjective. You can have big apples, but Australia is much bigger than any apple I’ve ever seen.

My point is, that it is hard to comprehend just how large this island actually is until you start to explore it for yourself but then, when something is so big where do you start? When faced with this dilemma I decided to delegate this responsibility to Geoff Mack the writer of the now cult song “I’ve been everywhere“. So, over the course of the next few days, weeks, months or years (I don’t know how long as I don’t know how big Australia really is) I will be visiting the 94 towns, cities, rivers  and villages immortalised in the song lyrics.

Unless Australia is actually smaller than I perceive, I believe this journey will not be completed all in one go. After all, I do not wish to rush seeing so many new people and places. I will however update these pages as soon as visiting a new location so please subscribe to my RSS or Twitter feeds to remain updated.

P.S. If you live at one of the 94 places, I’d love to hear of your ‘must see’ attractions so feel free to drop me a line.
